BRIGHTON Festival is kicking off its second full week today.

After a successful first week there are hundreds of events, exhibitions, venues and shows to come.

Here is a list of some of the events on today:

Thrones and Bones at Brighton Dome Concert Hall

In Thrones and Bones, Tasha Suri and Samantha Shannon, authors of the popular Burning Kingdoms and Bone Season series respectively, share from their work and discuss how speculative fiction can help us navigate such things as the value of human life, justice, and the fear of the unknown.

Festival of Ideas: Making Space at Royal Pavilion Music Room

A collaboration with the University of Sussex, The Festival of Ideas harnesses the transformative power of the arts and humanities to fashion new ways of thinking about the past, present and future.

Showcasing an important area of contemporary cultural practice, the event will examine how a critical and creative interrogation of the past and present might lead towards more equitable futures.

Monday at 7pm

The Archive of Favourite Places, across the city

People from communities across Brighton were asked questions and local studio Stephenson& has woven 12 tales into a city-wide immersive photography and sound exhibition.

It will be running until Sunday, May 29

A Collage of Care at Brighton Dome

Festival guest co-director Marwa Al-Sabouni invites the public to participate in a large-scale plant exchange by bringing a plant to the Brighton Dome.

Yolk and Aliens by Jane Horrocks available online

Combining a collection of archive material from VHS home footage to diary recordings Jane Horrocks, Molly Vivian, Francesca Levi and Camilla Clarke have created a memory shop full of treasures and horrors.
