Amazon shoppers have been raving about a dual-channel tens machine that's said to provide pain relief for a whole host of issues like period cramps and muscle pains.

The AUVON tens machine and muscle stimulator is currently the number one bestseller on Amazon for nerve and muscle stimulators, and for a limited time, shoppers can get their hands on it for 18 percent less than usual.

It currently costs £24.64 down from £29, and customers have been full of praise for its 'immediate' pain relief, compact size and long battery life.

Tens machines can help to stimulate muscles and sensory nerves which promotes relaxation and natural pain relief. All you need to do is place the sticky electrode pads wherever you're sore - such as your neck, shoulders, stomach or knees - and let it get to work.

There are more than 20 modes available to choose from depending on which kind of pain relief you want. Pre-set modes offer the likes of hammering, kneading, shiatsu and more choices to help relieve pain associated with aching and fatigued muscles.

Since there are two different channels, you can place the pads on two different parts of your body and customise the pain relief even further. You can control the modes, intensity and duration from the machine itself which is rechargeable and has a built-in lithium battery that won't suddenly shut down while you're using it.

The tens machine has received plenty of glowing reviews from happy Amazon customers. One person wrote: "Great little tens machine. Very easy to use. Neat. Easy to read. Lots of settings to choose from. It arrived already charged & I’ve not had to charge it myself yet. Relieves pain & is very relaxing to use. Pads adhere very well on first few uses then not quite so well but still useable. I would say this is well worth the money."

Another said: "Was reluctant to get one of these for labour as I didn’t know how well it would work. Used it at home and managed to cope with the pain until 8cm dilated without anything else!! Was an absaloute god send and wouldn’t of coped at all without it."

And a third said: "I've been training for a half marathon and found that I get aches in my calves and hips that I just can't shift. This little device has been an absolute life saver! I ended up pulling a muscle in my back this morning; just a couple of hours later, this was delivered, so I set it up and popped it on and omg, the immediate relief was amazing. I had it on for 20 minutes, and although the pain remains when I stretch, it's so much more bearable that before."

However, some people noted that it only provides pain relief whilst being used, and doesn't always offer long term results.

Elsewhere, Boots is also selling a tens digital pain relief pack for £50.99. Or, if you struggle with back pain in particular, you could try the back pain tens belt for £38.24.
