Bristol Airport announces extra flights on popular route to Ireland
Extra flights on a new route between Bristol Airport and Cork have been introduced. Aer Lingus Regional, operated by Emerald Airlines, has announced plans to increase the capacity on the popular route, with 20,000 additional seats on sale now.
When the flight was introduced in February last year, the airline initially operated six flights a week, daily except for Saturday. It will now offer double daily flights on Fridays and Sundays every week.
The airline has set the extra flights in response to the growing demand from passengers. Ian Lough, head of commercial at Emerald Airlines said: "We are very pleased by the positive feedback we've received on our service between Bristol and Cork.

“In light of this, we are excited to announce an increase of an additional 20,000 seats on this route. This expansion will provide our customers with greater flexibility and more options when planning their trips to Cork.”
Rupert Lawrie, commercial director at Bristol Airport said: “It’s great news that this route is proving popular and we very much welcome Emerald Airlines providing additional capacity. The new flights will help provide improved business and cultural links between Ireland and the South West region of the United Kingdom.”
