A Bristol bakery has made it into a list of the top 13 artisan bakeries in the UK for 2025. In an article by British Baker, Bristol's Farro bakery was ranked at number eight in the list of 'The Bakers' Dozen', which is a list voted for by industry experts - more than 100 specialists from bakers to suppliers, consultants and lecturers.

Farro, which is found on Brunswick Square, is known for milling its own flour and using it to create some of the city's most delicious bakes. It boasts a 4.8 star rating on Google, with local reviewers commending it for its "artisan quality pastries served with a smile", and "wonderful authentic feel in the bakery as you get to watch the chefs bring out fresh delights".

In the British Baker list, Farro was described as: "Having first made it to the Bakers' Dozen in 2024, Farro remains on the list for 2025. Located in Brunswick Square, the independent bakery and city mill has a focus on flavour and an eye for detail, serving up what it describes as seasonally delicious, well sourced bread and pastries alongside a well-made cup of coffee.

"Freshly milled flour is at the core of its bread, with the bakery milling its own to preserve the full flavour, nutrition, and unique character of the crops it works with, which make soil health a priority. The grains also find their way into the bakery's sweet offering, like the Medovik cake with einkorn sponge or the Roast Apricot & Panela Galette made with einkorn and YQ wheat."

Another local reviewer visiting Farro some months ago, called it the 'best bakery in the UK', and added: "Exceptional coffee and pastries. Consistent tasty lattes. I’ve tasted almost all their pastry offerings multiple times — babka, honey almond, pastel de nata, choux bun. Quality is consistent. Taste and texture is phenomenal. To die for."
