A Bristol charity is hosting an 'anti-knife crime rave' in the light of recent events and deaths in the city. DJs will perform at The Underground on Friday, September 27 and ticket proceeds will go to Empire Fighting Chance, an organisation that works with young people to exit gangs and reduce destructive behaviour.

Empire Fighting Chance in Easton was founded in 2006 and is an award-winning sport for development charity. Coaches, therapists and mentors work with young people aged eight to 24 through boxing and psychology, helping them to build a better future whilst improving their mental health and strengthening relationships.

DJs playing at the event will include My Nu Leng, Rua Tui, DLR and Slimzee. Bristol Beer Factory will be supporting the event, with 100 per cent of the sale of every Bristol Beer Factory drink at the event going directly to Empire.

Rua Tui, one of the artists playing at the event, said: “We are super stoked to be playing this event and to be supporting Empire Fighting Chance. With the cost-of-living crisis and the increasing wage gap, more and more kids are finding themselves in situations where they need help and have no one to turn to.

"Seeing the difference the charity has made to so many young people in Bristol is so inspiring. These kids are the next generation and to be a part of something that can really make a difference to their future is amazing.”

Head of Fundraising at Empire, Emily Haberfield, said: “Bristol’s D&B scene is legendary, and for the music community to come together to help us raise vital funds to support Bristol’s most vulnerable young people is incredibly inspiring.

"We are so grateful to Bris-Tek, Industrial Project and Bristol Beer Factory for their support: the funds raised at this event will directly support the young people in our city who need us most.”
