Bristol’s festival season has finally gotten underway for 2024 and while the likes of Love Saves the Day has been and gone, and Upfest is nearly over for another year, there is still plenty more to enjoy. From food and drink festivals to music and Pride, there is something for everyone this summer.

Organisers of popular festival Siren, the ‘harbourside gig series at the Bristol Amphitheatre, have announced this week they have finalised their Thursday line-up and this year it will be an all female list. With only 29% of DJs identifying as women, Siren wanted to make a concerted effort in ‘supporting and highlighting some incredible female talent within the industry’.

Headline act Sugarbabes was announced for Thursday earlier this year, but the noughties pop-megastars will be joined by a plethora of other female acts. Starting the day off is east-London based Jaguar who will treat the audience to ‘her signature blend of house, techno and influences from jungle and drum and bass.’

Another Londoner will take to the stage next in the day, ‘wowing festival-goers with her soulful voice and contemporary R&B production. Tyler Lewis gives audiences a modern take on R&B, featuring ‘beautiful harmonies and melodies. The final act to perform before handing the stage over the pop-classics Sugarbabes will be Peachin’ treating audiences to dance-floor anthems. The crowd will be ‘kept on their toes by bouncing between 90s and noughties hip-hop and R&B, dancehall, afrobeats, ampiano, UK garage, global club and more'.

Co-Founder of the Siren Festival, Tom Hoyle, said: “"We’re absolutely stoked to add these powerhouse females to the party. Jaguar, Tyler Lewis, Peachin’ and Pop Confessional on the bill alongside Sugababes promises to be an absolutely incredible celebration of all things pop, dance and R&B. It’s going to be next level and we can’t wait to bring everyone together this summer!”
