Bristol Pride Day 2024 takes place on Saturday, July 13, with its annual Pride Parade through the city ahead of the main festival of music on The Downs later on. The Parade, which is a walking parade that does not allow vehicles or floats to take part, gathers from 10am at the Bandstand end of Castle Park, departing at around 10.45am.

The two-mile-long route will take about an hour to complete and will end at the Amphitheatre, where shuttle buses will be waiting to take festivalgoers to The Downs. You will also be able to catch buses from College Green or centre stops, with free travel on Pride Day if you have a supporter wristband.

While there are no road closures in place for the music event at The Downs, various roads in and around Central Bristol and Broadmead will be closed between around 10am and 2pm on the day, to facilitate the parade. And, as a result, bus diversions have been put in place - this means your route could change temporarily.

Pride Parade organisers say: "Water is not provided on the route however there is a refill fountain on Millennium Square at the end of the parade and many outlets in Bristol participate in the Refill scheme if you have an empty bottle you can fill up with. There is a short hill incline on Union Street, so some may wish to join the parade at the other end of Castle Park, by Wine Street."

The march is expected to see around 25,000 people involved, with more than 40,000 people expected for the music event on The Downs. You can find a list of FirstBus route diversions below - they may be subject to change but are correct at time of writing. Extra inspectors will be on duty to assist passengers on the day.
