Stevenage took the lead late in the first-half, as Jamie Reid tucked the ball home from close range, following a Jordan Roberts cross, as Matthew Cox and Connor Taylor collided in the build up.

The vistors almost doubled their lead on the hour, as Carl Piergianni header hit the post, following a dangerous cross.

Bristol Rovers equalised deep into the second-half, as Chris Martin caught goal keeper Taye Ashby-Hammond off his line and in dramatic fashion, scored from 40 yards out.

An entertaining final 10 minutes saw both sides pushing for the victory, but the points were shared in the end.

Here is how the Rovers players faired...

Player ratings:

Matt Cox - 6

Failed to punch away the initial danger that led to the visitors opener. However made some crucial saves in the second-half.

Luca Hoole (subbed off, 79) - 6

Looked positive down the right-hand side from fullback and always looked to get Rovers forward.

Connor Taylor - 6

Collided with Cox which allowed Reid to score from close range, but won his arial duals throughout the game.

Tristan Crama - 6

Had a tough evening in his return to the starting line-up, but played well and will only improve performance as he regains full match fitness.

Joshua Grant - 6

Played at left back before being subtituted at half-time. His physicality was brought in to deal with the visitors’ size and power.

Lamare Bogarde (subbed off, 45) - 5

Looked shaky in the middle of the park in the first-half, before being subtituted at the break.

Sam Finley - 6

Tried to dictate play in the middle of the park, but struggled to supply the attack with opportunity. Kept possession well and dominated the ball.

Antony Evans - 6

Likewise with Finley, struggled to find any real openings from midfield. Had some good efforts from free-kick chances, in dangerous areas of the pitch.

Jevani Brown (subbed off, 90) - 6

Played a lot of the game with his back to goal and had limited opportunities to run in behind and use his pace, however looked like Rovers’ most dangerous threat when given the chance.

Aaron Collins - 6

Had little impact on the game on the left-handside and struggled to cause the visitors real problems.

Chris Martin - 7

Had a tough evening leading the line alone for the Gas and looked isolated at times, with minimal service into the box. However scored an outrageous effort from 40 yards out, catching Ashby-Hammond off his line.

George Friend (subbed on, 45) - 6

Slotted in at left back in the second-half and did well considering it was hist first appearance in over a month.

Harvey Vale (subbed on, 45) - 7

Looked positive after coming on after the break and tried to get at the Stevenage backline with his pace.

John Marquis (subbed on, 79) - N/A

James Gibbons (subbed on, 90) - N/A
