While most musicians were being ferried to the Brit Awards by chauffeurs, Bastille and Blossoms opted for a more low-key mode of transport.

Both British bands decided to get the tube to the O2 on Wednesday night to beat the rush hour traffic.

Proving that they haven’t let their new found fame go to their heads, chart-topping indie pop band Blossoms posted a photo of themselves mid-journey.

“Tube to the Brits #workingclassladz @BRITs #BRITs,” they wrote on their official Twitter account.

Just minutes later, the Stockport-based band were on the red carpet, tweeting: “Stockport massive @BRITs #BRITs.”

Bastille also decided to use public transport to get across London, but hinted that it was because they’d forgotten to order a taxi.

Frontman Dan Smith posted a selfie, writing: “And the award for the least organised band goes to…."

Blossoms will go up against Skepta, Anne-Marie, Stormzy and Rag n Bone Man in the breakthrough category, voted for by the public.

Bastille have been nominated in the Best British Band category and will battle it out against Little Mix, Radiohead, The 1975 and Biffy Clyro.

A number of stars have opted to ride the tube to the O2 in the past to avoid traffic delays, including Rihanna, Harry Styles and Jay Z.
