Sadiq Khan donned a black tie to attend the Brit Awards after-party hosted by Soho House at 180 The Strand with his wife Saadiya.

The Mayor of London turned up at the bash after the ceremony, looking smart in a black evening jacket with a simple white pocket square.

Khan was joined by the likes of Nick Grimshaw, Katy Perry and Ellie Goulding, who were also cutting loose at the party hosted by Universal Music.

The awards ceremony took place at The O2 in London, recognising the best of Britain’s music scene.

The show included performances from Little Mix and Robbie Williams, while Stormzy made an unexpected appearance during Ed Sheeran’s rendition of his new single Shape of You.

Katy Perry's performance of her song Chained to the Rhythm featured a political dig at Theresa May and Donald Trump. The staging feature giant skeleton puppets which were dressed in the same outfits the Prime Minister and President wore when they first met at the White House in January.

There was also a technical hitch, as one of Perry’s backing dancers dressed as a house fell off the stage and into the crowd.

The awards saw Little Mix pick up their first ever BRIT, winning Best Single for Shout Out to My Ex.

“We honestly didn’t know where to go, we didn't think we’d win it,” said Jade Thirlwall. “We were just sitting there chin-wagging. This is for all our exes.”

David Bowie was given two posthumous awards – Best British Solo Male Artist and Best Album for Blackstar.

Bowie’s son Duncan Jones accepted the award, telling the crowd: “I lost my dad last year but I also became a dad.”

Speaking about his father, he said: “He’s always been there supporting people who are a little bit weird, a little bit strange, a little bit different. This award is for all the kooks, and the people who make the kooks."
