From Dua Lipa to Stormzy, these are the nominated tracks and artists you absolutely have to hear ahead of Wednesday’s ceremony.

Dua Lipa - New Rules

Dua Lipa has enjoyed a breathtaking rise over the last 12 months, and it’s largely been down to the success of New Rules. The irresistible track propelled her to household name status last summer, with the video racking up a staggering 1 billion views on YouTube. The British singer is surely destined to take home a few awards at this year’s ceremony, and don’t bet against New Rules winning the British Single gong too.

Little Mix - Touch

Little Mix reminded the world why they’re one of the most popular girl groups of recent years back in January 2017, when they released Touch, arguably their strongest offering yet. Perrie, Jesy, Leigh-Anne and Jade will be hoping to take home the British Single and British Artist Video of the Year awards and with the song's success it’d be pretty hard to argue against them.

Stormzy - Big for Your Boots

Stormzy is nominated for Mastercard British Album of the Year and British Male Solo Artist at this year’s awards, which cap off an incredible year for the rapper. While he faces stiff competition (he goes up against Liam Gallagher, Loyle Carner, Rag ‘N’ Bone Man as well as collaborator and friend Ed Sheeran in the British Male category) this highlight from debut album Gang Signs & Prayer is a great reminder of his musical exploits from the last 12 months.

Rag ‘N’ Bone Man - Human

He might look like every hipster who’s ever served you coffee in East London, but Rag N Bone man - aka Rory Charles Graham - is one of the biggest emerging stars being celebrated at this year’s BRIT awards. The bearded baritone is up for three awards this year, including Best Single for Human, the track that raised him to all new levels of fame last year.

Ed Sheeran - Shape of You

It was impossible to avoid Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You in 2017, with just about every radio station playing it on rotation and the video stacking up a truly remarkable 3.2 billion plays on YouTube. The singer’s unstoppable success is recognised here with nominations in four BRIT categories. He’s won the award for British Male Solo Artist twice before in the past, and he’s amongst the favourites to take home the award once again in 2018.

Calvin Harris Ft Pharrell Williams/ Katy Perry/Big Sean - Feels

The last few years have been notable for Calvin Harris for some of the wrong reasons, after the breakdown with his very high-profile relationship with Taylor Swift. However, he was back with a bang in 2017 with Feels, which proved to be one of the biggest songs of the summer. With Katy Perry and Pharrell Williams on board, the song was alkways going to be a success, and the tropical video - complete with a cameo from a couple of head-bopping parrots - is quite rightly up British Artist Video of the Year too.

Clean Bandit Ft Zara Larsson - Symphony

Clean Bandit claimed Christmas number one in 2017 with Miss You, but it’s their summer hit Symphony which is nominated for British Single at this year’s BRITS. The group recorded their third number one with the track and 623 million views of YouTube after being posted back in March. The success of the song also helped to launch the career of Swedish star Zara Larsson, who provides guests vocals on the track.
