Brit who ditched UK for Spain says you only need one thing to move abroad

Many people dream of packing their bags and moving abroad.

Between the dreary weather, the cost of living and the never ending list of problems appearing to grow – it's no wonder some people want to escape from the UK. Six years ago, one man decided to take the plunge.

John, known as @englishjohncostablanca on TikTok, is known for opening up about his life in Spain, and he admits it's a "wonderful place to live". From the sun to the relaxed lifestyle, there's little not to love.

However, for those seeking a more vibrant life in the sun, he has a key piece of advice. According to John, you only need one thing to be able to set up a new life abroad, as it sets a foundation for everything.

In a recent video, he said: "I've been living in Spain for over six years and I've learnt, during that time, the only thing you need to do in order to be happy here is just be able to support yourself financially.

"Everything else just takes care of itself, at least for me anyway. I mean obviously I used to holiday here, so I had an idea that if I lived here on a permanent basis, and I could afford to do that, then I'd spend my free time doing what I did while I was on holiday. Why would I not be happy? That's something to think about."

When you think about it, it makes sense. Once all the paperwork is in place, and you have somewhere to live, all you need is money in your pocket to make the living arrangement work.

It certainly seems to be working for him, as he now spends his time making videos in the sunshine while surrounded by beautiful scenery. Maybe there is a way you can make sure your holiday never ends.

The video has been viewed dozens of times since it was shared, and people were quick to comment too. They think he is a super lucky man.

One person said: "It was great to chat with you John, and the information you have me has given me a lot to think about. Now I feel I can move forward."

Another wrote: "Do you find most clients are retiring out there or coming to look for work?" John responded to this stating people are usually either retiring or already working in business.

Meanwhile, a third simply replied: "Lucky. Enjoy it man!"
