The auditions continued with a jam-packed sixth episode with more comedy acts, dancing troupes and great singers than you can shake a stick at.

As the show races towards the semi-finals, the last of the golden buzzer acts was chosen as Amanda Holden hit that all important button.

Elsewhere, the show celebrated the royal wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle with montage of the big occasions over the years ending with a congraulations message. And Simon Cowell surprises the mother of one of the acts, sisters, as he calls to deliver the good news that they’re through.

Here are our five must-see auditions from episode six of Britain’s Got Talent.

Sarah Llewellyn

The 32-year-old American was the first audition we saw this evening, and the first to receive the famous Cowell eyebrow raise.

Sarah came out in a long gown belting out O Mio Babino Caro to an amazed audience, immediately in love with her operatic tones. But jaws were soon dropping open for different reasons as Ant and Dec wheeled out a wedding cake (wonder why this audition went out today…) and Sarah began to stuff her face with the sweet dessert.

Whipping her dress off to reveal a silver top and black shorts, Sarah then performed acrobats and ate some more cake – all while still singing opera.

Four yeses.

Ben Langley

Everybody loves a misheard lyric. We chuckle about them when we sing the wrong words with friends, we share them on social media and we all have those mistakes we refuse to admit to anybody else.

Ben - a variety performer - isn’t afraid of a lyrical faux pas, in fact he has made a whole act out of misheard lyrics. From Lady GaGa to Irene Cara to the Backstreet Boys, the routine had something for everybody.

A standing ovation and stellar comments for the judges resulted in four yeses.

Oscar Donnelly

Probably one of the most adorable contestants to date, little Oscar – missing two front teeth just to complete the aww factor – performed an Irish dancing routine and earned the Scottish schoolchild a full sweep of yeses.

SORA

We know by now that magicians are great friends of the show, and we also know that contestants from abroad are faring quite well this year.

SORA offers no exception, ticking both boxes. The 26-year-old had something of a lookbook, to get the judges to pick random attire – from a bra to stockings – and then revealed that he was actually wearing their creation and had predicted the whole thing all along.

The Japanese performer got four yeses, and a rousing cheer from the audience for turning the tables on a “sexy strip” act by whipping his own clothes off and not those of his assistant.

Gruffydd Wyn Roberts

The singer, who lives in North Wales with his nan, had the “honour” of being cut off by Cowell halfway through his song of choice, Un Giorno Per Noi.

Shaking with nerves, Cowell told the theatre assistant his performance was “cold and mechanical” but he knew there was more inside of him. So Gruffyd became the recipient of a second honour – the chance to perform a second song.

Taking a drink before turning his attention and might to classic track Nessum Dorma, the 22-year-old delivered a flawless performance – especially that iconic ending - and made such an impression on Holden that she hit her golden buzzer.
