LONDON (Reuters) - Britain will not proceed with legislation planned to override some post-Brexit trade rules for Northern Ireland, the government said on Monday after reaching a new deal with the European Union.

"The UK Government will no longer proceed with the Northern Ireland Protocol Bill, as the UK and EU have come to a negotiated agreement," Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's office said in a statement.

The deal also means the EU will withdraw all legal actions it has launched against Britain, the statement said.

"The UK and EU have agreed to work together to anticipate and deal with any other issues that may emerge and have made a joint declaration to resolve issues through dialogue, rather than formal dispute proceedings," Sunak's office said.
