Britain’s Got Talent star Pudsey the dog has died aged 11 following a battle with bloody cancer.

Pudsey’s owner Ashleigh revealed that she is “heartbroken” after having to put down her beloved dog earlier this week.

The much-loved duo were crowned winners of ITV’s annual talent competition back in 2012 and Pudsey even went on to star in his own film in 2014.

“I can't honestly believe I am writing these words,” Butler wrote in an emotional Instagram post, which has since been deleted.

“My handsome man has gone, and I don't know what to do without him. My heart is broken, and I don't know how I'm going to get through this.

“It hurts so much that my handsome, incredible Pudsey Bear will never be by my side, where he belongs, again.”

She continued: “We only had 11 years together, but they were the best years ever. He was my one-in-a-billion dog that will never be replaced.

“I don't need to write all of his endless accomplishments on here to prove how incredible he was for me. Sleep tight my handsome man, I love you lots.”

The dog trick act became one of the most popular in the show’s history, going on to have a successful career in pantomime and appeared as Dorothy and Toto in a touring production of The Wizard of Oz.

David Walliams voiced the dog in Pudsey: The Movie, which was produced by Simon Cowell.
