BGT Hit By Another ‘Fix’ Storm As Paul Daniels’ Nephew Is Accused Of Nicking Tricks

Britain’s Got Talent magician Richard Jones has been accused of stealing two tricks off his late uncle Paul Daniels.

The army bandsman, 25, transformed fizzy drink into tea and performed a ‘mindreading’ origami stunt on Saturday night.

But the widow of Daniels, below, Debbie McGee was quoted in The Sun saying: “Paul has done both those tricks in the past. Stealing people’s tricks is frowned upon The Magic Circle.

“He didn’t steal the whole presentation but people do get cross when you present something in the exact same way.”

However the 57-year-old, below with Daniels, added: “It was great to see a younger person performing magic nicely.”

Jones received gushing praise from the judges after he guessed which celebrity Amanda Holden chose – cutting out a picture of David Beckham. He also turned a can of fizzy drink into a hot brew.

But both tricks were shown on The Paul Daniels Magic Show on BBC in 1989,with Daniels snipping Elvis Presley and transforming a whole host of beverages.

The much-loved magician died last month, aged 77.

A source close to Jones told The Sun: “He was unaware Paul performed something similar in the past. These similarities are purely coincidental.”
