Angry Britain's Got Talent fans condemned the 'unfair' line-up of the show's first semi final on Monday night, before it had even started, as they claimed that a number of top acts would be sent packing, due to so many of them being put up against each other in the same heat.

After the audition episodes came to an end on ITV on Sunday night, the countdown is now on for this year's BGT final, with the winner set to be decided on Sunday, June 2. But, before then, there are 40 acts left in the competition all hoping to be in with a shot at victory. The 2024 semi finals will take over ITV1 every night this week, airing from 8-10pm Monday to Friday and the first heat had a whole host of strong contenders.

Semi final one had three Golden Buzzer acts in - Starlight skating duo, martial art acrobats Ssaulabi and singer Taryn Charles, as well as opera sensation Innocent Masaku and young dancer Trey Braine, meaning that, whatever the outcome, at least two hotly tipped acts would be going home. And the fact that so many good acts were in the same Britain's Got Talent semi final did not go down well with many viewers, who argued they should have been separated out better.

Reacting to the line-up reveal on Instagram, one fan wrote: "Too many of the best acts in the one show.. I hope Innocent & the dog act go through" with a second responding: "...there is acts here that on other years would have potentially won that won’t go through tonight" A third commented: "Oh stop it!!! I think Innocent, the Trickstars, Taryn and the karate guys should go through!!! Not fair 2 of them will be going home at least."
