Simon Cowell interrupted Monday's Britain's Got Talent episode to address Ant McPartlin's big personal news. Kicking off the show, hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly reminded viewers that they were live for the first time this series, following the pre-recorded auditions earlier in the series.

As the pair introduced the judges - Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli - in front of a live audience, Ant was stopped by Simon who gave him a heartfelt message. It came after Ant and his wife Anne-Marie welcomed their newborn baby Wilder only a few days ago, with Ant thanking his fans on social media for their support and congratulations.

Announcing the news, he wrote: "Welcome to the family. Wilder Patrick Mcpartlin. Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54am. Baby is beautiful, Mummy’s a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad’s a mess!" For the latest TV & Showbiz news, sign up to our newsletter

Glad you loved the tattoo as well. For all you dog lovers who asked why my beloved Hurley wasn’t on the family tree... he was!! He was just covered by our newborn. All my love, gratitude and heartfelt thanks. A."

On Monday evening's show, Simon offered well-wishes to Ant. Simon, 64, said: "By the way, can I just say congratulations to you Ant," before the audience erupted into a huge applause for the new dad.

Ant took a bow as he responded: "Thank you very much, thank you very much, thank you," before Simon added: "I'm so happy for you really." Dec put a hand of support on Ant's shoulder as he smiled at the interaction.

Ant then said with a smirk on his face: "Thank you for your lovely gift," before turning to the other judges and joking: "Judges, still waiting on yours." They all laughed as Simon quipped that the gift was from all of them.

Following the arrival of Wilder, Ant and Anne-Marie received tons of support from famous friends on social media. Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon, who said: "Awwwww darling I’m so happy for you both! Baby shares the same birthday as my mummy! Can’t wait to meet buba and to celebrate soon! Love you both."
