Britain's Got Talent's Ant and Dec have pressed their Golden Buzzer for this series to send dancing youngster Akshat Singh straight to the semi-finals.

The 13-year-old took to the stage tonight (April 20), and the audience were certainly in need of a bit of entertainment after a string of dud acts.

Luckily, Akshat came from Mumbai, India equipped with a positive attitude to "be happy and make others happy" – and some awesome moves to boot.

Akshat danced to a massive mash-up which mixed Bollywood tunes with club classics, doing cartwheels and the splits and getting a rousing reception from the audience.

Simon Cowell admitted he was "not expecting that," while David Walliams added: "I wish I was 13 and seen you up on stage."

Unsurprisingly it was a yes from all four judges – but the biggest surprise was to come as Ant and Dec then came on stage and went over to press their Golden Buzzer.

Akshat was brought to tears over the moment as the pair later told him that he "made [them] happy".

That now means that just Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden are left to press their Golden Buzzers, following David's in week one and Simon's last week.

Meanwhile, tonight's show also saw Simon subjected to a dangerous stunt as he had a number of knives thrown at him on a board.

Act Andrei Gomonov admitted afterwards: "This was high stakes. It was more dangerous because I didn’t know what Simon would do. I know my partner. She knows not to be scared and not to move.

"But I didn’t know if Simon might move. I worried I might leave him seriously injured. I had small nerves. I’m a professional, I must be ready and keep my focus."

Britain's Got Talent airs on ITV.
