Britain’s Got Talent's George Sampson Chases And Catches A Suspected Thief In London

Britain’s Got Talent’s 2008 winner George Sampson has been something of a hero this week, chasing and catching a suspected thief in London and putting them under a citizen’s arrest.

Go on, George!

The Emmerdale actor shared his story on Facebook, explaining that he’d been free running with a friend on London’s South Bank when he heard a women screaming that two men had stolen money from her.

He went on to describe how they chased one of the men for five minutes and put him under a citizen’s arrest while they waited for the police.

The 22-year-old wrote: “So I Was training free running at the imax in London earlier and along southbank with my friend Harry when a woman started to scream, telling everyone that two gentleman had stolen her money in a street scam and ran away…

“We saw a police officer chasing one man and the other man ran in the opposite direction… We flipped a few walls and free ran our way to his direction, 5 minutes of chasing him and we had him under citizens arrest waiting for the police to arrive…

“He apparently stole the kids birthday money who was enjoying a birthday trip to London from Cardiff… He was never gonna outrun us… Felt like something from a movie!”

Ella Mason, the son of the little boy who had his birthday money taken, commented on the post to thank George and his friend, writing: “Thank you ever so much for ur help today it was me and my boy xxxxxx u was amazing xxxxx and Harry xx [sic]”.

George replied: “No worries, at least he will get what’s coming to him!”
