Simon Cowell stopped a Britain's Got Talent in their tracks on Saturday night, bringing their audition to a standstill and giving them a second chance to impress, after they struggled to overcome their nerves and started singing off key.

With the live semi finals starting on ITV on Monday night, this weekend's episodes of BGT see Simon and colleagues Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli cast a final glance over this year's hopefuls, with all of them hoping to join the Golden Buzzer acts and other successful performers in the knock our rounds.

And one of the acts who walked onto stage as the Britain's Got Talent auditions wrapped up in Manchester was singer Ace Clark, who seemed taken aback when he stepped out into the spotlight to get a first look at the theatre packed to the rafters with fans. He told the judges that his best friends and girlfriend were in the audience to watch him, before launching into a rendition of Harry Styles hit As It Was.

Sadly for Ace, he got off to a rather shaky start, missing some of the notes and never really recovered. Sensing pretty quickly that Ace had cracked under pressure and, clearly confident he was capable of better, Simon raised his hand to stop the audition, telling Ace: "I don't think the,key was right, I think you were nervous, but I think you're interesting," before asking the singer if he said he had a second track.

Clearly grateful for his reprieve, Ace gathered himself to start singing Lovely by Billie Eilish, with things going much better at the second time of asking, with many people in the crowd on their feet by the time the music stopped and the judges equally impressed, with Bruno Tonioli remarking: "Some of the sections were mindblowing!"
