British accent voted sexiest in the world - with French down in FIFTH
A massive poll of more than 11,000 people in 24 global cities showed that the UK accent was preferred by people in Paris, New York and Sydney
The British accent is the most attractive in the world, a survey has revealed today.
A massive poll of more than 11,000 people in 24 global cities showed that the UK accent was preferred by people in Paris, New York and Sydney.
More than a quarter of those surveyed preferred a British accent, over a U.S. accent in second, closely followed by Irish and Australian.
The French accent featured in fifth place - although Paris is still considered the most romantic city, with the world’s ‘best dating scene’.
The French capital saw off competition from Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur, Beijing and Chicago - with London in sixth.
The Time Out Global Dating Survey also revealed that more than half of people check up on a date on social media before meeting them.
A huge 58 per cent admitted to scouring the likes of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to sound out a potential romantic partner.
Meanwhile, more than half of people kiss on a first date - although just one in 10 said sex on a first date was acceptable.
