British equestrian event rider dies in fall at Devon event

(Reuters) - A professional horse rider has died from a fall when competing at an equestrian event in Britain, governing body British Eventing said.

Briton Georgie Campbell, who was married to New Zealand event rider and Tokyo Olympian Jesse Campbell, suffered a fatal accident while competing at the Bicton International Horse Trials in Devon, England, on Sunday. She was 37.

"Medical professionals attended immediately following her fall at fence 5b however, unfortunately, she could not be saved," British eventing said in a statement.
