This year’s British Fashion Awards, which are in their 33rd year of running, have come to a close and with them, a whole host of newly-honoured fashion talent.

The Awards, which act as a fundraiser for the British Fashion Council’s talent initiatives, are moderated by 2,500 key members of the fashion industry who nominate, and then elect, the winners.

Hosted by the Golden-Globe winning actress Tracee Ellis Ross, this year’s awards heralded a new era for the fashion industry, as a host of young and burgeoning talent were awarded honours.

Among them, the inimitable Daniel Lee, who was awarded all four of the awards he was nominated for, including the coveted gong of Brand of the Year for Bottega Veneta.

Lee has heralded a new era for the Italian fashion house, which was founded in 1966.

Prior to Bottega, Lee was director of ready-to-wear at Céline, where he was nurtured by then-Creative Director, Phoebe Philo. As Philo's protégé, Lee's designs mirror the understated chic, minimalist palette and flowing silhouettes for which she was known.

Meanwhile, the Urban Luxe gong was awarded to Rihanna's ready-to-wear brand Fenty, marking the first time the LVMH-owned brand has won a Fashion Award.

One of the most thrilling features of The Fashion Awards is the NEW WAVE: Creatives list, which recognises 100 of the industry’s movers and shakers, from hairstylists and makeup artists to set designers, creative directors and digital influencers. Trailblazers include photographer Campbell Addy, commentator Diet Prada, and filmmaker Fenn O’Meally.
