Father-Son Duo Win Halloween With 'Yorkshire Pudding Boy' Costume

A father in Southend-on-Sea, England, is finally receiving the recognition he deserves, as his videos documenting his hilarious annual Halloween creation “Yorkshire Pudding Boy” have gone viral.

James Paley captured this video of his son creeping around the kitchen, covered in about 350 Yorkshire puddings, also known as popovers. Paley can be heard narrating behind the camera. “Time to make ‘Yorkshire Pudding Boy’ as Halloween fast approaches. We need to get him ready so he’s ready to battle the Gravy Man,” Paley intones.

In an interview, Paley explained that the idea came about ten years ago when he had a bunch of leftover pudding and joked that he should turn it into a superhero. He’s been making the Halloween costume every year since, but this is the first year he made a video of the gorgeous getup.

He said the creation takes several hours and is coated with lacquer and glue. His son can be heard in the interview describing how fun the costume is, and confirmed he will be going as “Yorkshire Pudding Boy” for Halloween. Credit: James Paley via Storyful
