British Man Uses Remote-Control Car to Bring Cakes to Neighbors on VE Day

A man in Nottinghamshire, England, found a way to share sweets and smiles with his neighbors on VE Day, driving a remote-controlled car with special cake deliveries through his community.

On May 8, Glen Stevenson of the town of Eastwood dusted off an old toy car he had built when his children were younger, and decided to reuse it to suit the COVID-19 lockdown. The miniature vehicle was laden with cakes and driven to each of his neighbors’ houses, facilitating social distancing while still bringing the community together on the day commemorating the Allies victory in Europe in World War II.
