British mum in Spain issues warning to tourists after 'bank cards and passport stolen'
A distraught British tourist in Spain has issued a warning to others after her passport and bank cards were allegedly stolen.
The mum took to TikTok to post a video after realising what had happened during her holiday in Salou. Jess, who goes by @Je55x on the social media app, feared she would be 'stranded' after the discovery.
In an emotional video, she shared her distressing situation and claimed while she was in McDonald's, her passport and cards were swiped while they were in a bag hanging on her child's pram.

The mum was stressed following the discovery and contacted the police before realising an attempt was reportedly made to use her bank cards at a nearby steakhouse, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Upon reaching the station, Jess encountered another Brit who had experienced a similar theft in Salou, a coastal town on the east of the country. "I've just been talking to another woman here and she's had the full phone, purse... everything gone, and she was only stood nearby", she said.

Jess concluded her video with advice for fellow travellers: "I'm just putting it out there," she cautioned. "Just keep your stuff on you and not around you. Anything can happen anywhere. You just never know when it's going to happen to yourself so always be alert and on it so it doesn't happen to you."
TikTok users rallied to offer Jess advice, suggesting the UK embassy would be best suited to help with her dilemma. One user penned: "You need to go to the UK embassy, they'll get you a new passport for you to get home," while another added in retrospect: "Always get a hotel safe, why would you carry your passport about whilst on holiday especially if you're there for a few days?"

A third chimed in with personal safety tips: "On holiday I never take my card out with me and only take enough cash to do me for what I'm going out for." Whilst a fourth person warned of the risks in Spain, responding: "Unfortunately it's well known in Spain for this happening, you need a cross body bag and it closed always."
In an update video, Jess revealed that she took the initial advice to heart and visited the British embassy in Barcelona, where she was charged £100 for a temporary passport to return home.
