The man is accused of raping the woman under the pretext of giving her a massage while she was with her husband.

He is said to be part of a group that offers illegal massages near popular tourist spot Arambol beach, according to local media.

A senior police official told NDTV the suspect had also worked as a librarian at a school in the past.

“We have contacted the police station concerned to get his past records. Currently, he is not working as a librarian,” the official said.
