Britney Spears Could Have Been A Teacher

The pop sensation dreams of being a teacher.

The 34-year-old singer has an overwhelming feeling that she was destined for another career and ponders what life would have been like if she hadn’t passed the audition for Disney’s The Mickey Mouse Club aged 11 and become a pop superstar.

It’s a scary prospect for her fans, who would have been robbed of her ground-breaking Hit Me Baby One More Time single, the pulsating I’m A Slave 4U video, her shocking moments kissing Madonna on stage and shaving her head during her tragic breakdown.

But Britney – bit*h – thinks she could have taken a path with a completely different set of highs and lows, telling NME: “I try not to analyse it too much. I love what I do and I think that helps because it speaks for itself when I perform. Seeing other artists continue to do this kind of thing inspires me too. Because sometimes I’m like, ‘What am I doing? Like, I could be a teacher.’

We’re not sure she’d be saying that if she had Ofsted to deal with, but the star – who has sons Sean, 10, and Jayden, nine, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline – has definitely caught the teaching bug and does occasionally offer dance classes.

Don’t stress, she’s still hugely passionate about her music and threw all of her creative juices into her new LP, Glory, saying it is her most “selfish” record to date.

She said: “Honestly, this is the first project where I’ve really been hands-on. I was really specific about who I worked with, and I’ve been learning to say no. I’m a people pleaser, so that’s hard for me. Even if I don’t like something, I’ll do it just to make a person happy. I made sure this album was everything I wanted it to be. I was really selfish with it.”
