Britney Spears is...pregnant! The star revealed she is expecting her third child with partner Sam Asghari in an Instagram post yesterday, just months after her 13-year conservatorship came to an end.

She wrote: “I am having a baby... It’s growing! If two are in there I might just lose it.”

In the post, she refers to 28-year-old Asghari, whom she got engaged to last year, as “My husband” prompting some to speculate the pair may even have already married in secret.

Asghari was also quick to share the news, following up with a post that reads: “Marriage and kids are a natural part of a strong relationship filled with love and respect. Fatherhood is something i have always looked forward to and i don’t take lightly. It is the most important job i will ever do.”

Spears announced her engagement to actor, model and fitness influencer, Asghari, last year.

The pop star, who has been married twice before, and has two sons Jaden and Sean with ex-husband Kevin Federline, again made the announcement via Instagram, where she showed off a huge, round diamond ring in a series of poses. "I can’t f****** believe it," she captioned the video. The pair had been dating for over four years after meeting on the set of her music video for Slumber Party. By January 2017, the couple were Instagram official, and both now regularly share photos of each other to their combined 36 million followers.

Asghari stood loyally by Spears’ side as she battled to end her 13-year conservatorship, which she says controlled all aspects of her life, including preventing her from removing her IUD contraceptive device “because they don’t want [her] to have any more children,” and also allegedly blocking her from marrying her boyfriend.

Speaking to People last year, Asghari said: “I have always wanted nothing but the best for my better half, and will continue to support her following her dreams and creating the future she wants and deserves. I am thankful for all of the love and support she is receiving from her fans all over the world, and I am looking forward to a normal, amazing future together.”

The feeling is clearly mutual. Following her victory in the conservatorship battle, when her father Jamie, 69, agreed to step down as her conservator, Spears gushed about how her beau has remained by her side throughout tough times.

She wrote: “Not only has this cute a****** been with me through the hardest years of my life but he happens to be an extremely good cook! Fast & Furious franchise, don’t miss out on your next star!!!”

Here’s everything you need to know about the future Mr Spears.

Asghari was born in Tehran, Iran, and migrated to the US with his father when he was 12. He told Variety his father sacrificed a “comfortable living where he was doing really well financially” and became a tow truck driver in the States. The pair began to build a life in Southern California and his three sisters eventually joined them.

Asghari speaks fluent Farsi and has previously posted videos of him teaching Spears how to say “I love you” in the language. He played American football at high school, but the personal trainer and fitness influencer, who has 2.4 million followers of his own, has not always lived a healthy lifestyle. In an interview with Men’s Health, Asghari describes how he once lost 100 pounds (seven stone). In 2013, exhausted, sleep-deprived and “stress eating,” while working as a Best Buy clerk, Gold’s Gym sales rep and bouncer, he said he found himself weighing in at 290 pounds (over 20 stone).

“I was eating Doritos for breakfast, fast food, sugar, candy, no protein, a lot of carbs, and drinking sugary sodas,” he told the publication. “My nutrition was extremely horrible. The stress and the fear of not going anywhere [in life] combined gave me my depression.” After an awakening, he undertook a lifestyle overhaul and spent the next six months transforming his body. He started a new career in fitness, learning from YouTube videos and a nutrition course, though notes at one point he became “obsessive” about his body fat percentage.

His new healthy lifestyle and ripped physique led to a career in modelling, encouraged by his sister. “I was a very masculine guy — I played football and was in the police academy,” he told the magazine. “At the time, my Sunday best was basketball shorts. My sister said, ‘I will take you to this audition, just come with me.’”

His modelling led to the appearance in Spear’s music video, and in the same interview Asghari recalls “trying to be funny” to break the ice with the singer. “She said, ‘Hi, I’m Britney,’ and I said, ‘I’m sorry. What’s your name again?’” He added: “I don’t think anybody got it.”

Asghari is ambitious about his acting career and has landed roles in TV show Black Monday, feature film Can You Keep A Secret? and HBO Max’s American comedy-drama Hacks. He is currently managed by Brandon Cohen of BAC Talent. Speaking to Variety, he said: “Action is something that I want to do — action, drama, thriller — that’s a genre that I want to really get into. But if you can do comedy, you can do anything.”

He later continued: “Everybody that looks like a model or a good-looking person is usually not a good actor. That’s just the perception. But the truth is, I’ve been acting since back in high school — I was doing theater and arts. I was doing Shakespeare, you know, “Macbeth,” “Hamlet.” And right now, I’m getting the opportunity to finally do it as a profession, rather than a hobby.

“I never wanted to do something that was sexy, but at the same time, but you can’t help it when it’s the guys from “Broad City” — the production team are so phenomenal, and they’re so talented.”

Asghari added that he wants to get into blockbusters and Netflix shows one day but that he is wary of being “stereotyped” and has even turned down some roles.

“My ultimate goal is to be the first Middle Easterner that plays a superhero. Marvel or anybody — they should give me a call.”
