Britney's request to remove dad from conservatorship denied

A US Judge has denied Britney Spears’ request to remove her father Jamie Spears from conservatorship although it is not in correlation to the singer’s explosive testimony in court last week. Britney revealed to a Los Angeles court remotely on June 23 that the conservatorship is “abusive”, and she has been forced to work against her will. According to the court documents, the pop-star’s lawyer Samuel Ingham III made the request in November 2020 to end the legal arrangement. The filing for new paperwork dated June 30 states that judge Brenda Penny approved financial company Bessemer Trust as co-conservator, but did not rule out future petitions to suspend Mr. Spears from the conservatorship. The judge cannot make a ruling based on her official statement last week until she files a petition to terminate the arrangement. Britney Spears was originally placed under conservatorship in 2008 after struggling publicly with her mental health. .
