Britney’s up for Strictly Come Dancing

Pop princess Britney Spears has issued a ‘come and get me’ plea to the producers of Strictly Come Dancing.

The ‘Toxic’ star, who’s been in the UK for the past week following her amazing performance at the Apple Music Festival, has been hanging out with current contestant Melvin Odoom – and told him she’s more than up for appearing on the show.

“We had Britney at Kiss this week and we asked her if she’d do Strictly,” explained an excited Melvin.

“She said, ‘If they ask, I’ll be up for it’

“I don’t know how she’d do. But she’s great and it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

We’d hazard a guess that Britney would do pretty darn well. Your move, BBC!

Melvin, who performed the tango to Moving On Up by M People with partner Janette Manrara last night, has also been explaining his reasons for saying ‘yes’ to the show.

“I remember a couple of years ago when Mark Wright and Simon Webb were doing it – they’re good friends. I saw how much of a family they had all become and how much they’d bonded.

“I remember thinking this is something I’d love to be part of. This year was my opportunity to do it. And I’ve taken it with both hands.

“How many people can say they have a pro dancer spending five hours a day teaching them?”
