A horrifying video shows the moment residents in a small town were forced to run as floodwater from Storm Bert crashes towards them.

Some 140 flood alerts remain in place across areas of England and Wales after extreme weather conditions c aysed chaos over the weekend (Saturday, November 23 - Sunday, November 24). Many homes were submerged underwater during the storm and roads became waterlogged. Winds also battered parts of Britain with speeds of up to 82mph.

One area which has been severely impacted is Tenbury Wells in Worcestershire. Businesses in the town have been drenched after a flood wall holding back the Kyre Brook collapsed.

A video shared on TikTok has gone viral showing the scary moment residents screamed: "Get back," as a huge wave of floodwater came rushing towards them.

The video, which has raked in over 1.4million views, shows rapid water knocking down signs and speeding past shop fronts before rushing towards a crowd of people, including a child. One person can be heard shouting: "Everybody get back. Move, move."

Commenting on the video, one person said: "Omg you poor people, so so sorry awful just before Christmas." Another wrote: "That’s why I have always, and will always, love at the top on a hill or cliff, that is my worst fear as a homeowner."

"Hope everyone is ok," added another. One other wrote: "That's so sad. Flooding is awful, hope everyone is okay. Glad these folks kept people away."

One other commented: "So sad, the power of nature. I feel for these people." "Wow, that's so scary," added another.

Another noted: "Water is extremely heavy, and currents can be unexpectedly fast. You don't want to literally be swept off your feet if you don't need to be."

The local fire service warned residents to stay away from the floods, with the Environment Agency previously warning of Storm Bert hitting the town and surrounding areas. There have been no reports of injuries in the town.

The Met Office forecast that rain in the south-east of England will clear on Monday (November 25) but blustery showers could stick around in the north-west. Several rail operators have cancelled services today.

The region-wide forecast reads: "A damp day with spells of heavy rain, lingering the most across eastern parts of the region but slowly clearing to the southeast, with drier interludes developing from the west. Very mild compared to recent days but staying windy.

"Cloudy with heavy rain gradually clearing eastwards this evening and overnight with clear skies developing through the early hours. Winds easing a touch and feeling cooler."
