BRITs viewers cringe at muted applause for Bros
The now infamous Bros documentary After The Screaming Stops may have been the surprise hit of the Christmas schedules.
But maybe only for viewers of a certain age.
Last night Matt and Luke Goss took to the stage at the Brit Awards and rather failed to whip the crowd into the frenzy organisers may have hoped.
Host Jack Whitehall's intro may not have helped matters, as he proclaimed to the crowd at the O2, that they 'were the biggest band of the 80s before falling harder than Gemma Collins on ice and disappearing quicker than a winner of The Voice.
"I'm a bit of a troublemaker and I want to hear you guys make as much noise as you can," said Matt, to a cheer from the crowd.
"Come on O2!" added Luke, clearly after more, but they had nothing more to give.

Wow, no one at the O2 cares about Bros do they? #Brits

Bros trying to get people to cheer... tragic! The crowd were born about twenty years too late to know who the hell you even are guys! 😂 #Cringe#nearlyascringeassamsmithsdancing#BritAwards2019#BRITs

Perhaps the duo's popularity in the wake of classic quotes like 'The letters H.O.M.E. are so important because they personify the word home' were somewhat overstated.
Mind you, clearly the conkers moment had some resonance...
My 2 favourite men !! #bros@LukeGoss@mattgoss at the #BRITs 👌 look at the size of that conker 😂 pic.twitter.com/snvlVLVBOs
