A 45-year-old man has been arrested after a man was stabbed to death outside an Argos store in broad daylight in south London.

Police said he was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody at a north London police station.

The victim, in his 30s, was found with knife wounds after reports of a fight between two men on Atlantic Road in Brixton at just after 12.50pm on Friday.

He was rushed to hospital but died a short while later.

Witnesses reported seeing a man with a knife wound “collapsed in a shop” while another said they saw a police officer whose hands were “full of blood”.

The victim’s next-of-kin have been informed although detectives were still awaiting formal identification on Saturday morning.
