A man has been stabbed to death outside Argos in a broad daylight attack in south London.

The victim, who is in his 30s, was found with knife wounds after reports of a fight between two men on Atlantic Road in Brixton at just after 12.50pm on Friday.

He was rushed to hospital but died a short while later, police said. Officers have now launched a murder probe into his death and said they believe just one suspect was involved.

Witnesses reported seeing a man with a knife wound “collapsed in a shop” while another said they saw a police officer whose hands were “full of blood”.

Atlantic Road was taped off by police between Brixton Road and Coldharbour Lane while officers dealt with the incident.

Passengers travelling by train were told they could only access the station from Brixton Road.

An air ambulance was also scrambled to the scene.

One person said on Twitter: “Apparently a fight outside Argos, two guys, one with knife wound collapsed in shop.”
