Broadway and West End legend Alfie Boe is set to launch a new theatre academy in Belfast with local theatre director James Huish.

The Alfie Boe James Huish Academy will launch in September this year and will allow rising stars from age 7 upward to learn from some of the biggest names in musical theatre.

Launching the new academy, James Huish said that working with him and Alfie Boe will give students "direct access to the leading performers, directors, casting directors, agents and writers and the best most up-to-date training and performance opportunities."

"No other theatre academy has this unparalleled access directly to the industry. Designed to train you and get you industry-ready," he said.

"The Alfie Boe James Huish Academy will be based within Victoria College Belfast. With extensive facilities, a theatre space, rehearsal rooms and dance studios, one-to-one lesson rooms and recording facilities and media rooms. Not to mention the many break-out areas and beautiful grounds."

James said that the academy will help participants build self-tapes and voice reels in addition to performing in full-scale productions in the local theatres in and around Belfast.
