Brody Stevens dead: Comedian and star of The Hangover films dies aged 48
Actor Brody Stevens, who appeared in The Hangover films, has died aged 48.
The stand-up comedian is thought to have taken his own life, and was found at his Los Angeles home on Friday.
He was a big name on the comedy circuit, and had also appeared on TV show Chelsea Lately, as well as creating a documentary series based on his life with friend Zach Galifianakis.
The series, Enjoy It!, offered an insight into Stevens’ experiences with bipolar disorder.
In a statement, his representative said: "Brody was an inspiring voice who was a friend to many in the comedy community.
"He pushed creative boundaries and his passion for his work and his love of baseball were contagious.
Brody Stevens was a master. Can't believe this news. Depression is a demon that's taken too many great people and as much as it feels right to tell depressed people to reach out to friends and family it's so much more complicated. Just check on and love your friends and family. pic.twitter.com/WpnrYAAS92

“He was beloved by many and will be greatly missed. We respectfully ask for privacy at this time."
Fellow comics flocked to social media to pay their respects, with Sarah Silverman calling his death “so sad.”
Like many fellow comedians @tedalexandro and I sat dumbstruck on this Friday night after our show thinking about our friend Brody Stevens. Not to be all sappy but Brody's passing made Ted and I realize how special all you comedians are. I'm so grateful to know each of you. Thx

She said: “The comedy clubs will have “Make God Laugh” on their marquees 2nite like they always do when one of us ... I’m not sure God will GET Brody but his local references will be epic. Ugh. So sad. #818 #EnjoyIt #RIPBrodyStevens Ps Brody would be so psyched about TMZ covering it.”
Patton Oswalt added: “If you are depressed or feeling suicidal please please please please please reach out to ANYONE. I never get to see Brody Stevens again I can’t stand this. #RIPBrodyStevens #818ForLife”

Dave Attell tweeted: “It’s such a big loss. Brody was a true original. The only thing more fun than watching him on stage, were the great talks we had off stage. Miss you Brody now and always #RIPBrodyStevens”
