A Bromley school pupil will star in Disney’s latest Peter Pan film, set to be released on Disney+ in April this year.

Alexander Molony, a year 11 pupil at Trinity School, will play the iconic character in Disney’s new film Peter Pan & Wendy.

The trailer for the film was released last week, showing viewers a glimpse of the live-action retelling of the classic children’s story about a boy who doesn’t want to grow up.

The film will hit screens on Friday, April 28.

Alexander stars alongside Jude Law as Captain Hook, Ever Anderson (daughter of Milla Jovovich) as Wendy and Yara Shahidi as Tinker Bell and the film is directed by David Lowery.

The youngster is a drama scholar at Trinity School in Croydon and landed the role back in 2019.

Alexander said: “It’s an absolute honour to play the part of Peter Pan, a character who has been in the hearts of so many for so many years.”

Alexander has not yet seen the film and found watching himself in the teaser during initial promotions a bit difficult.

He added: “I really don’t like seeing myself on screen.

“However, I am looking forward to seeing how the film has turned out, as so much effort went into the making of it.”

He prepared for the big audition with the school’s director of drama, Miss Robinson, and even borrowed a dagger prop to take with him.

Alexander has been a member of the school’s fencing club which the school claims has been helpful with the sword fighting in the film.

Filming was delayed due to Covid but eventually Alexander and his co-stars made it to Vancouver in early 2021 with a final month spent in the wilds of Newfoundland as the backdrop for Neverland.

Alexander has been working professionally since a young age, with voice work credits including Claude in the Disney animated series ‘Claude’, working with the Royal Shakespeare Company in a production of Macbeth and starring alongside Romesh Ranganathan in his sitcom ‘The Reluctant Landlord’ (2018-19).
