Community leaders demanded better safety measures and support for victims impacted by last Sunday’s deadly Bronx fire at a press conference on Thursday, January 13.
Speakers at the press conference included local leaders and social advocates, who criticized the lack of support from elected officials. Organizer Mona Davids said, "Families are not getting the support they need.
“As far as I’m concerned, this building is not safe. We have been here before, and it’s the same communities – black and brown – who are impacted,” Davids said.
