Yahoo News Brook Welcomes Title Showdown With Khan
Kell Brook is prepared to meet Amir Khan in a 'winner takes all' domestic mega-fight at Wembley Stadium, but will not wait around for the Bolton fighter.
Khan said he wants to fight Brook in the next 12 months and called out the IBF welterweight champion in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports News HQ.
"Kell Brook, if you want to take the fight - winner takes all," Khan said. "I'm up for it because I know I'll take everything because I'll beat you. So let's do it, man."
Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn accused Khan of dodging his long-term rival and dismissed his claim, adding: "I'll believe that when I see it because they (Khan’s camp) have no desire to fight Kell Brook."
Brook has told Sky Sports News HQ he is willing to fight Khan and would happily agree to a winner-takes-all clause as he is confident he would come out on top.
"You know he’s saying 'winner takes all' - for me that’s not a problem. It’s more money for me. I just want to put him to sleep and get it over and done with for him, finish him, that’s what I want to do. There’s public demand now. I think he’s getting forced into this fight.
"At the end of the day it is not about money for me. It’s about everywhere I go, 'when you going to fight him?' I know, and my team know, he’s getting put down and knocked down onto the canvas by super-featherweights in his career.
"He’s fighting a big strong welterweight in myself, the world champion who is very confident, who has never lost and who is determined to flatten him.
"He has got to come back with something. That’s not going to happen. Don’t get me wrong, Amir Khan is a very, very, very good fighter, fast hands, most definitely the fastest hands I will have been in with - a very good fighter.
"But the fact is, when I connect on his chin it’s 'goodnight Vienna'. I’m all wrong for him.
"I will find a way to catch him. We’ve got 12 rounds. Even if he does manage to get through, everyone is saying if it goes to the distance he will win on points, but that’s not the case.
"We will have the perfect game-plan. There’s no way this fight is going to last the distance. It is going to be exciting - and it’s not going to be a good night for Amir."
