He plays Detective Charles Boyle in the hit NBC sitcom, and during season six he made this brief allusion: "My cousin, Susan, didn't know she could sing until her late forties..."
"The great thing about Charles Boyle and Susan Boyle is, when they open their mouths, absolutely unbelievable things come out," he noted.
"Both of them prove that surprises live in all of us. Don't judge a book. Of course they're related!"
Last month, fans couldn't believe they'd missed Charles and Susan's connection, with one in particular writing: "Yeah I never put 2+2 together. None of my cousins have the same last name as me, so I never assumed cousin Susan would be Susan Boyle. Should have known better lol".
Our fingers are still crossed for that tantalising cameo!
Brooklyn Nine-Nine airs on NBC in the US. E4 aired season 7 in the UK, with seasons 1-6 available on Netflix.
