Andy Samberg's anticipated new movie Palm Springs has finally been given a UK release date on Amazon Prime Video.

The time-loop comedy has already drawn huge acclaim and initially racked-up a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes last year when it was released on Hulu in the US. Fortunately, the wait is almost over for UK fans.

It has been confirmed that Palm Springs will be released on Amazon Prime Video in the UK on April 9.

Samberg said: "We're thrilled that Palm Springs is finally going to reach audiences outside of the US and we hope that all the Prime members in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the UK, France and the Netherlands enjoy the genre-bending ride!"

Back in July 2020, Palm Springs broke the record for most hours watched over the first three days of release on Hulu than any other movie on the platform.

Following its release last year, Samberg revealed that he was nervous about the "legit acting" he would have to do for the movie.

"There was a little more 'legit acting', as people would say," he said to ComingSoon.net. "I'm very comfortable with comedy obviously, but I've got a lot less experience with more dramatic stuff. I would say that was the main difference for me coming into it.

"It was fun, it was challenging, and I liked that it straddled the line between comedy and drama in a way that was a little outside of what I've done before."

Samberg added: "That was a big part of why I was so relieved when we got Cristin [Milioti] to do the movie. Because I knew she would be my crutch."

Palm Springs is available to watch now on Hulu in the US and it will be released in the UK on Amazon Prime Video on April 9.
