Brother of Ian Brady's victim Keith Bennett slams media coverage following Moors murderer's death

The brother of Keith Bennett, a victim of Ian Brady, has slammed the ‘low life’ people ‘running to the press’ in the aftermath of the Moors Murderer’s death.

His brother Alan has campaigned ever since Keith’s death to keep the search for his body alive, and to honour his memory.

In an emotional Facebook post, Alan wrote: ‘I would like to thank all those responsible for their sincere and loving actions. I also thank the many hundreds of thousands of people that think about my mother, Keith and his family, whether it be on the moor, in the privacy of your homes or wherever else you think about us.

‘A lady stopped and placed flowers while I was there and many others stopped for a while and it was wonderful and very touching to see those people thinking about my mother and Keith and I have no doubt many prayers were said and thoughts shared with my mother and Keith. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

‘This is in complete contrast to the low life that have been crawling around lately and those that have contributed to the stories that low life have been running to the press with.

‘I hope they will see these pictures and tributes and the comments on this page about their vile, bitter, evil and twisted minds.

Alan slammed the actions of Erica Gregory, who has received publicity over her claim that Ian Brady and his accomplice Myra Hindley who assisted in their crimes by Hindley’s sister Maureen and her husband.

He wrote: ‘Gregory and friends, you are inhumane, obnoxious, nauseating and worthless beings. Your thoughts and actions are beyond the comprehension of any real person and I hope with all my being that you all reap what you sow.’

Keith was snatched by Brady aged 12 on the 16 June 1964. His body has never been found, and his killer refused to ever reveal the location of his victim.
