Rock legend Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be coming to Liverpool next summer as part of their 2025 World Tour. The 'Dancing in the Dark' star will be playing Anfield Stadium on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.

Nicknamed ''The Boss'' Bruce Springsteen has had a hugely successful career which has spanned more than 50 years. The singer-songwriter has released 21 studio albums in this time and earned many awards in the process including 20 Grammy Awards and 140 million records sold worldwide.

Up until this point, Bruce Springsteen has never played a show in Liverpool but the question asking why he hasn't performed here is something he has been asked before. In 2016, a Scouse fan of ''The Boss'' asked the musician to come to the city at a book signing in London.

Bob McGrae, from Hunts Cross told the ECHO in 2016: ''I've met other members of his band who've played Liverpool and said, 'Get him to come and play.'' He said seeing Bruce Springsteen performing in his home city would be the ultimate experience. Bob, who first saw Springsteen perform back in 1981, even managed to get a hug from ''The Boss'' before posing for a quick photo.

At the meet and greet, Bob recalled saying to Bruce: “I went up and said, ‘You’ve got to come and play Liverpool’ and he said, ‘I must, I must’. In an interview with BBC Radio 2 following the book signing, Bruce Springsteen was told the second most popular query received from listeners was why Springsteen and his band had never played Liverpool.

Bruce replied: “That’s a good question. I met a couple of guys the other day right here in London who asked me the very same thing. They said ‘you’ve got to come to Liverpool’ and I think I do. I’ve got to get there and play. Somewhere.”

The American icon told presenter Simon Mayo that he would love to visit Merseyside and recalled the influence the Beatles had on him growing up, especially if anyone in his New Jersey neighbourhood grew their hair to match the Fab Four’s trademark hairstyles.

The announcement sees Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band become the third artist confirmed to perform at Anfield next summer, with Billy Joel and Dua Lipa also confirmed to take to the stage at the home of LFC. Tickets will be available for general sale starting at 10am on Friday, October 11, and pre-sale details will be announced early next week.
