The cast of Malcolm in the Middle will have a reunion this week, Bryan Cranston has announced.

Cranston, who portrayed father Hal throughout the sitcom’s seven seasons between 2000 and 2006, shared the news in a recent Instagram post.

“Here we are... all are stuck in this five months of quarantine!” he wrote.

“Can you imagine how Hal would have gone bonkers on #MalcolmintheMiddle if he had to stay inside with his five knuckle-headed boys?! Makes me smile to think about that.”

He then advised fans that the cast will reunite this Saturday (8 August) over Zoom.

The cast will perform a reading of the show’s pilot during the event, which will benefit Healing California, a charitable organisation that provides free dental, medical and vision care.

According to the auction link provided by Cranston, the Zoom is an invitation-only fundraiser. Fans can bid online for a chance to participate.

In addition to Cranston, Malcom In the Middle starred Frankie Muniz as the titular character.

It also featured Jane Kaczmarek as mother Lois, Christopher Masterson as eldest brother Francis, Justin Berfield as Reese, the second eldest, and Erik Per Sullivan as younger brother Dewey.

Cranston famously went on to portray Walter White in Breaking Bad, which aired from 2008 to 2013.
