Bryan Cranston says he wants to reprise role of Breaking Bad’s Walter White in Better Call Saul

Bryan Cranston has spoken out about possibly return to the world of Breaking Bad.

The actor played drug kingpin Walter White in the popular series from 2008 to 2013.

He has now said that he would be keen to return as drug kingpin Walter White in Better Call Saul, the Emmy-award winning spin-off series to the AMC show.

Cranston told Collider, “I’d do it in a second. But it hasn’t happened yet, I can tell you and we’ll see. I don’t know. There’s one more season to go and we’ll see what happens.”

The acclaimed prequel series is approaching its sixth and final season. The last instalment was due to air in early 2021 however filming has reportedly been postponed due to the pandemic.

Cranston said, “I would be in [Better Call Saul] if Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, who are co-executive producers on it, wanted me to be in it.”

The Malcolm in the Middle actor also revealed that he had previously been asked to helm several episodes of the show since its first season aired in 2015.

“I’ve been asked to direct an episode every single season and it just didn’t work out because of a commitment to doing a play or doing a movie or something,” he said. “But I do love the show. I think it’s a fantastic show.”

Better Call Saul is the critically acclaimed prequel spin-off to Breaking Bad. It focuses on ex-con artist Jimmy McGill as he becomes his professional alias Saul Goodman, a morally challenged criminal lawyer who plays a major role in Breaking Bad.
