BT Sport have increased their prices again
BT have revealed plans to hike up the prices of some of their services – and BT Sport users are among those affected by the changes.
The service provider confirmed the news today (November 16), revealing that the increases are coming to landline and broadband services too.
While BT said they'll be writing to customers over the next two months to explain how the price changes – which come into effect on January 7, 2018 – will impact them personally, some users have already received e-mails containing details.
So, it's looking like BT Sport users can expect to pay another £3 a month for the service, while BT Sport HD users can expect to pay an extra £1.50 a month.
And seeing as this news comes just a few months after confirming that BT Sport will remain the exclusive UK home of UEFA Champions League and Europa League matches until at least 2021, football fans will have to stump up the extra money if they want to watch those competitions.
Needless to say, BT users are not best pleased by the announcement – and, as you'd expect, strong language follows:
BT Sport subscription going up £3 per month (£4.50 if HD); what was that about reducing Sky's monopoly to benefit the consumer again? #ripoff #maskandstripedjumper

Further price increases by BT Sport. Just had an email about it and have read a couple of articles as a result. Your ordinary mush can't keep paying those increases. No wonder Kodi boxes are rife.

That’ll be @btsport increasing prices almost 20% right before Christmas. Cancellation beckons for many i’d imagine, possibly myself included

Won't be watching the Ashes then. Wish @btsport would just @#& off. Thank goodness for Test Match Special.
