A new kiosk serving up bubble tea is coming to Eldon Square this weekend - with the chance for visitors to get a free drink later this month.

Bubbleology will open its first North East site in the Newcastle shopping centre opposite HMV this Sunday, November 10. The leading bubble tea brand will serve up its signature menu of milk and fruit bubble teas, seasonal specials and customisable choices, as the perfect treat to fuel your Christmas shopping.

And visitors who love the bubble tea should be sure to pop back for its official grand opening on November 23 - where the first 200 guests will receive a free standard bubble tea in a celebratory giveaway. Located in front of the windows on the bridge overlooking Blackett Street in the heart of Eldon Square, the kiosk will be easy to spot with Bubbleology's distinctive bright colours and neon signage.

Customers will be able to choose from a wide range of flavours, from classics like vanilla and chocolate to refreshing fruity concoctions such as raspberry, passionfruit and pomegranate, and indulgent specials including Oreo Crush, Banoffee Pie and Biscoff Bliss. It will be the first chance for North East bubble tea drinkers to try the brand, with the nearest sites including York and Edinburgh.

Bubbleology is the latest bubble tea venue to set up shop in Newcastle as demand soars for the popular drinks trend, with Manhua Cha Bubble Tea having expanded its premises in the Grainger Market just last month. The store, which has been in the market since the summer of 2023, has opened a new sweet shop next to their bubble tea business selling everything from traditional pick 'n' mix to sweets from the US and Asia - take a look around here.

And Bubbleology is just one of the new food and drink venues coming soon to Eldon Square, following the announcement earlier this week that world-famous chicken chain Wingstop would be moving in to the site formerly occupied by George's British Kitchen. The business was founded in Texas back in 1993, before quickly expanding to more locations and now has over 1,400 restaurants worldwide, including in Gateshead's Metrocentre.
