Buildings Crumble in Central Italy Earthquakes

Central Italy was rocked by two earthquakes on Wednesday, October 26. A 5.5-magnitude quake hit the area southeast of Sellano in Perugia province at around 5:10 pm and around two hours later, a separate 6.1-magnitude tremor was recorded west of Visso, Macerata province, according to USGS. Both areas experienced strong aftershocks following the initial quake. The earthquake was felt throughout the central region, including Italy’s capital Rome.

This Facebook live video shows rubble on the streets of Camerino in the Macerata province. The Santa Maria in Via church in Camerino collapsed during the quake, according to Agenzia Nazionale Stampa Associate.
